The Scribe Winery's history can be traced back to 1858 when Emil Dresel, the son of a well-known German champagne producer, arrived in California to seek his fortune. Realising that northern California had an astonishing capacity for grape growing, Emil bought four hundred acres of its finest land and established a vineyard. For over a century the vineyard has thrived. It survived Prohibition and has accumulated many awards for its fine wines. Today Scribe's wine pair perfectly with a wide range of modern dishes. We especially love Maya Prawns with Chipotle Mezcal Sauce to go with a bottle of Scribe Riesling.
